Our practitioner Derrick Findlay is qualified in KCR, CTR and Postural Energetics - and is a Reiki Master. How he entered the realm of alternative therapies is an interesting story...

At a time in his life where Derrick was experiencing challenges in his personal life and seeking comfort, he had a conversation with a friend who suggested he try out Reiki - and this would lead to a transformative journey.

“I’ll never forget my first experience of Reiki. I felt intense heat from the practitioner's hands -  without touching - which I know came from universal energy. I felt relaxed and cleansed - free of clutter in my mind and I was amazed by the power of it.”

Derrick has been developing his repertoire of skills since starting his complementary therapies business and now can offer a wide range of KCR therapies. His latest training took place in Buffalo, New York, where he learned the technique Lomi Lomi from Hawaiian Kahuna Harry Uhane Jim. Derrick has also recently been in Philadelphia teaching students and is heading back to Hawaii in January 2020 to assist a group of KCR practitioners. This September , he will head to Ireland to assist on KCR level 2 course. 

Derrick, also a managing director of a successful and leading home improvements company in West Lothian, has taken up therapies courses which he can qualify in with his own particular learning style as someone with ADHD; Derrick finds sit-down, traditional exams overwhelming. During his Reiki journey, a local practitioner and expert Jennifer Stroud became his mentor and supported him, adapting the course for Derrick’s style of learning. Derrick has started his second business - Universal Therapies -  and is now servicing a growing client base in West Lothian.
